Bradley Michel Student Center

This past Friday, I gave a talk at an InterVarsity Fellowship gathering on the campus of Bradley University. Entitled 'The Resurrection in a Secular Age', the talk was well received and I was able to meet some remarkable students at Bradley. I am indebted to Martin Smith of IVF and Trenton Parrish, a student at Bradley University, for the opportunity. A longtime attendee of Bethany Baptist church, Trent also initiated a meeting with pastor Ritch Boerckel of Bethany, which led to a later meeting with Jerry Sanderson of Bethany. I also had the opportunity to meet with pastor Joshua Gutteridge of Crosspoint Church of East Peoria and with pastor Joshua Monda of First Baptist Church Washington. I was blessed and encouraged by all the meetings with these four men.

I also spent much of ten days developing a new 'The Gospel on Trial and Stage' section of the Credible Faith website. The Gospel on Trial & Stage will be an event that I would offer to churches or university ministries wherein I would recite at least almost all of the Gospel of John or Mark (or another book) word-for-word from memory, and act much of it out (if the book were one of the gospels or Acts) and play piano at different parts while reciting. That would be the Gospel on Stage. The Gospel on Trial would be the part in which I would give an evangelistic message or an educational talk on an issue of apologetics or the Christian faith. If you go to the page, there are example promotional materials, possible schedules depending on how much a church or campus ministry would want. Check it out, and feel free to give feedback or suggestions.

On the family side, there recently was a 'no more chemo' gathering for Jeremiah at Grace church, and it was nice to see a number of friends there. Eric and Jill purchased a home in Morton, IL, but they will not be moving into the house until sometime around or after October 31. I also heard from Joe, my brother-in-law, that there was or is a pending offer for his and Angela's old home.

PRAYER REQUESTS
1. Fundraising. Financially, one of the hardest seasons for a ministry is the beginning. Though there have been a number of one time gifts, Credible Faith has not had near the success that I would have liked in regard to monthly supporters. Please pray that God would bring monthly supporters alongside Credible Faith to help it get on a solid financial footing for it to be a ministry that lasts for decades. Credible Faith is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and donations are accordingly tax-deductible in the US as permitted by law.

2. Ministry Opportunities. Pray that doors would be opened for ministry in churches and on campuses and for relationships to be formed that would be mutually beneficial for ministry in those places.

Have a great month!!!

Sincerely,
Paul

Quote of the Month

Charles Chaput, 'Politics and the Devil':

Fools with tools are still fools; and the more powerful the tools, the more dangerous the fools. Or to put it another way, neither science nor technology requires a moral conscience to produce results.
